Engine Advice

Well i Have a 1977 F-100 Custom, 1/2 ton 2wd with a 300c.i and 3spd manual tranny in my truck right now. Im trying to turn it into a daily driver but have some Power under the hood. Does anyone else but me think that the 300c.i might be too small for the truck? Ive never driven it before because its in the process of being restored. But is the 300 a reliable motor for a truck that size?

The 300I6 is a very good truck motor. People that have them really like them. They are not a power house. But the trade off is they get about the best fuel mileage you can expect from these trucks. Check in the engine forum for this engine. There are things you can do to increase the power from them.

I would add this... Listen to the guys on the engine forum. They are the most knowedgable on the subject of your engine. Tell them what you want the engine to do, your budget, and give them time to work on the plan. I have a different engine but the forums provide you with the best access to the experitse for your particular power plant. They will not steer you wrong.
