05 upfitter switch

How could you made the 05+ switchs fit my 04 X. I found a kit but for a 05+ http://catalog.powerstrokeshop.com/p...catalogid=4411
Whould it be hard to due or could you but it in the hole below the 4*4 switch. If there is an some what easy way to do it I will

Is it the same as in an X as in a super duty and same wire plugin as an X,

The Excursion was never offered with the upfitter switches, so it would take a lot of work to make them fit and function in one. Your best bet is to add some switches like I did to my 99 F250.

I picked the switches up at either Autozone or Advance Auto, can't remember which. They are pretty cheap I want to say around $2/pc. The I just bought about 50ft of 4 wire trailer wiring. The one with 4 colors of wire that are all run together in a flat strip. I ran them from the battery back to the firewall where I mounted my relays (you can also get these cheap at your local parts store). I used the same trailer wire to run from the relays into the cab and to the switches. I got power for the switches from a wire inside the cab but I can't remember which. Any 12V+ wire will work, I used one that only came on with the ignition. I just daisy chaned the power and grounds on the switches, and then had one of the trailer wires go to each switch.

To install the switches themselves I just used a 3/4" spade drill bit to drill the hole, and a small triangular file to put a notch in it. The notch is needed for a little tab on the switch that keeps the switch from rotating in the hole.

I wired my own upfitter switch on my truck. I bought the switch from autozone for 9 dollars. The pics are in my gallery. They are for my fog lights.

I have not givin up on the upfiter switchs Idea yet. I found one more problem. I have the adjustable foot pedals and the swich takes up some of the space in that little cubbie hole. I have not fuigued it out yet. Have you done this yet to your Excursion,

From what it looks like, although that joystick is blocking the view, his cubby is the same size as yours with the power pedals. So you wouldn't have any space issues with the power pedals, you'll just have that small space to the right of the switches, which he covered up. And no I've never done this to my Excursion.
