I have the famous "Ford Dead Dash Display" radio problem and plan to resolder the display power board points, but I might have a second problem.
The LED in the front panel has a small brown burnt spot in the lower right corner (looking from the front). I don't know if my dead display is because of this or the solder points being bad on the display board.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do I fix it?
I have a standard AM/FM Single CD Player that I took out of my 2002 XLS when I upgraded to a new Sony head unit... there was nothing wrong with the old one, it only got used for abour 2 1/2 years or so. I'd be willing to part with it for a reasonable fee, say 70 bucks or so. I can't guarantee that it would last forever, but it was just fine when I took it out.
