Rpm Adjustment
I bought an 86 f250 6.9 liter about two months ago. My rpm's seem to max out at about 2200. The guy I bought it from said that there is an adjustment on the pump. Has anybody heard of this or did I just get ripped off.

Is your tach right?
What size tires and what gear is in the axle?
Also do you have a 4 speed or an automatic?
3.55 gears and 235/85-16 tires would only run 58 MPH at 2200 RPM.
Same stuff with 4.11 gears would only go 50 MPH at 2200.
