Exhasut Question

I am going to dual mine out soon and I have a magnaflow sido muffler, I was wondering if it is legal in NC to run pipes just in front of the rear axle and turn them down or do I need to go past the rear axle. I know I dont need any problmes with getting it inspected.
thanks

Im not sure what the laws are in NC but i dont think it matters as long as the tail pipe is past the passenger compt. Ive been told that for years and all my trucks havent had a problem. I live in Louisiana and my pipes are dumped before the rear axle and the inspection passed

I don't see why there would be a problem as long as the ppes run past the passenger department. My buddy Matt lives in NC and I haven't heard of him having to change his dumped exhaust setup on either of his two trucks or his Mustangs from how he had them in Michigan.

on that note...where can i find information on the exhaust regulations for arizona....is there a website or something...i can only find that you need to have it tested if your car was built before 19XX or something like that.....also what exhaust mods could ruin my emissions....i just plan on having a flowmaster SIDO dumped at the rear axle....would that do it?

if your truck is newer and you leave the cats on it, there shouldnt be any problems.I spent about 2 months in Arizona about 3 years ago and I saw alot of junker trucks that shouldnt pass any inspection so i figure any newer truck should do just fine. As for mods, the only thing i think that would ruin your emissions is taking the cats off.
