New stereo in 2000 EXPY

Got a new Alpine from Crutchfields. Installed very easily, routed aux, usb and ipod inputs to the center console.

This stereo also has an option for Steering wheel remote (which EXPY does not have). I am wondering if anyone has figured out how to route the Steering wheel input to the rear-of-the-center console controls? Is it possible?

thanks in advance,

Don

Don, what Alpine stereo did you get?
How hard was pulling the old unit?
Running the lines to the center console?

I would like to do something similar in mine

I got the Alpine iDA-x001.
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=iDA-X001

I wanted USB and IPOD and AUX in. This was pretty much my only choice. Only downsides of this unit I have found so far are:
1: No CD Player (but do I really need one now)
2: The radio has presets, but no direct-buttons, so to get to presets requires button, dial the jogger, then button.

It was extremely easy to uninstall old unit and install new one. The dash cover for the stereo just pops out. The tools that came from cructhfield to pull the stereo meant it came out with no screws (I think you need tese U shaped tools, but can probably get them many places). The running of the cables via center console to center-console-storage area took NO drilling (holes already there for CD Changer).
