sensor or not?

My truck has died a few times at slow speeds and lost all power for a split second at high speeds. The emissions system light came on one time. This has happened about 6 times in two weeks? is there a sensor that could be malfunctioning?

Sounds like you need the beloved cam sensor, and a 10mm socket and a ratchet. The dealer has a new p/n (which i dont have off the top of my head, but someone will chime in) and its less then $30 bucks! And at that price, buy two! and have a spare!

New CPS part number = F7TZ-12K073-B

Old CPS part number was the same except it ended in "A" instead of "B" and the new ones are grey instead of black.

Thanks for the info. I had an Idea it was a sensor but no clue which. The cam sensor was replaced at 4000 miles when my truck was new but no problems sense.

When I replaced mine, those same problems that I had disappeared. Took about 20 minutes and I'm one of those where Murphy's law applies.
