my 460 buildup update
I wanted to update everyone on how its going.
I have for the most part completed my 1980 F250 4x4 460 (473) ci. project.
Today I fired it up for the first time and boy am I impressed. The motor sounds good with open headers, too bad it has to get the muffler treatment.
Tomorrow is the first road test once the oil is changed and the valvetrain has been checked, etc.. I think its too early to run the rpm's up to where I'll be mud racing it at, but I should have enough time on it by the weekend to see what its got.
I want to thank everyone who has helped me along before and during my project it made a tough job easier.

Don't ****** too many stumps at one time with it.
With the muscle you have now, you probably could pull down a forest.
Have Fun !!

I did vary the rpm when it was broke in, from idle to 3000rpm never holding at one rpm for more than a minute or two.
We ran the truck on a friends test track last night and the trans shifted through all 3 gears and the rpms never dropped.
This truck has more power than anything I have ever owned.
Thanks for the replies
