water temp question

1997 psd. Just installed the 203 thermostat because I thought the old one was stuck because the needle would just barely raise in to the normal mark. After the 203 thermostat same readings on the gauge. My 02 psd runs half way and a few other ones I know run half way. What does a person do. Any Ideas?

The stock gauge is not very accurate. You can install an aftermarket temperature gauge to get an accurate reading.

wreckit72 is correct. The stock gauges in our trucks are just idoit lights with a needle. The sending unit sends a voltage signal to the PCM which interperts the signal and then sends a seperate signal to the gauge to cause it to register. If you really want to know what your truck is doing you need after market gauges.
