I put led bulbs in the front and rear clears and now my blinkers dont work. I took the front out ond put regular bulb in and they worked. Thats on my 95 F150. I also put the same bulbs in the front clears on my 94 F250 and the blinkers work fine. I was also wondering if anyone painted there mirrors because mine are fading .
you need a little current draw to make the flasher work, try a "heavy duty" electronic flasher, if that doesn't work you will need to put more load on the turn signal circuit somehow, they sell resistors for that purpose
Oddly enough, one bulb seems to be enough, my '93 will still flash even with one bulb burned out. found that out driving home from picking it up... haven't bothered to find a suitable replacement flasher that will actually correctly indicate a burned out bulb yet.
i beleive that you have to get a electronic flasher, the load of led lights is a lot less and the old style flasher will not get enough load to operate. if they do the blinker will flash rapidly like there is a bulb burned. at least that is what the guy that sold me mine said. they worked so i just assume that he is right.
On the mirror thing I found a product that works it's "Mothers Back to Black". I used it the other day and it worked, just one application so far but I think after a few more it will look even better.
LED bulbs may cause some newer vehicles to indicate a bulb is burnt out (because of their low power consumption). Some cars indicate this by increasing the flash rate of the turn signals, some turn on a bad bulb indicator. This can be remedied with our Load Resistors wired across the turn signal bulbs to simulate a filament bulb load.
This 6 Ohm, 50 Watt resistors can be connected across the turn signal bulbs to simulate the load of a regular filament bulb (2 Amp load). This will solve LED related turn signal problems such as hyper flashing or burnt out bulb indications. This LED Load Resistor can be use with most signal or brake light which uses SINGLE or DUAL FILAMENT LED light bulbs, like the 7443, 1157, 3157, 4157, 1156, 7440, 3156 etc. Resistor measures 1.96L x .64W x .60H inches, leads are 12 inches long. Kit Includes gel filled moisture resistant splice taps.
CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS:
Using included splice taps, connect one wire to ground and the other wire to the turn/brake hot wire. Splice taps allow for installation without cutting your turn signal wires.
Automotive LED Light Bulb Load Resistor Features:
-- Solve LED related turn signal problems such as hyper flashing or burnt out bulb indications.
-- Compact design for easy installation.
-- 6 Ohm 50 Watt resistors can be use will most import and domestic vehicles.
