I just finished replacing my exhaust manifold bolts with factory stock studs/nuts after 1 broke. What can I put on these, that the exhaust won't bake off, so that they won't rust?
I recommend nickle anti-seize. Available in most auto parts stores. I also recommend replacing the bolts with grade 8 (or better) bolts. Apply the Nickle Anti -seize and torque to spec. It is the best stuff I've found.

I'd hate to replace the factory stuff I just bought, especially since it was so overpriced, although I can see the benefit of stronger bolts. I'll look for the Nickle Anti-seize so I don't have these rust out.

Thanks!
The anti-seize only helps to stop the bolt threads from galling into the heads for easy removal. Putting antiseize on the outside of the bolts will do nothing. After a short time the antiseize will dry up and wear off. I would have installed some 300 series Stainless bolts , however spraying some high temp header paint on the bolts every now and then will help keep the rust at bay.

I wanted to go with stainless but time constaints meant I had to go with what was available at that moment. I'll use stainless on the other side when I change them out. The header paint is a good idea, thanks!
