I'm thinking of adding a multispark box to my accel distributor and coil. The intent is to get more complete combustion at idle, especially when cold. I've modified my Speed Demon carb as much as I dare and am still a little rich at idle, mostly when cold. Has anyone had good results with one of these units? The Accel unit is a little pricey.

My Holley was a little rich before but fine now... btw.. the engine is nowhere near stock....
No complaints in otherwords for the year I have had this set up....

bear, i installed the same 300+ kit with the coil and box. the clicking just comes from the box...in my case, i cant even hear it in the truck, just from outside when close to the front or when the hood is popped and im listening for it. it has no effect at all on the radio. i was having extreme missing problems with the old coil and duraspark, but im guessing one of them was bad anyway...so its hard to say how much power improvement i would have gotten had my old system been functioning properly. also, the truck has been running inconsistantly due to the carb so i cant tell ya any differences in power or milage for sure. i can say that it idles smoother and starts quicker for sure though. as for price, i ordered my kit for just over $180 including tax and shipping. it came with the coil and all the wiring. plus it has an adjustable rev limiter, rather than the pain in the butt plug in chips. its funny you say its too pricey, because the price is the reason i got mine. you can probably find an msd 6a somewhere for $130 but that doesnt have the rev limiter and doesnt include a coil. the 6al is generally the same price as the 300+ kit but likewise, doesnt include the coil. to top it off, the 300+ is a lot smaller and according to a spec sheet i read, puts out more power than the msd's and has 2 degrees more spark duration. anyway, now you probably all think im an undercover accel salesman...but no, im just a satisfied customer trying to give you some input from my experience. =) by the way, i ordered it from northern auto parts.
Like Supercab said, I also have no problems with radio interference... and the "clicking noise" from the set up is only noticable from outside the truck... I got mine about a year and a half ago from CarParts.com when they were first starting out selling stuff on eBay.. paid $160 plus shipping ($15 I think) for the entire deal.. thought it was a good price with all that it came with...
