I was just wandering what brand of rod and main bearings and rings you guys preffer. I have had good luck with clevite 77 bearings and federal mogal and perfect circle rings. these will be going in a 390 FE

Yes, those sound like good names to me. I used to be an auto mech. till about 17 years ago, and those are the the best brand names that I recall. go for it!
I have used Total Seal rings in two engines and they make really good compression. Nest time I think I'll toss their oil ring though and use a standard tension.
