97 E350 Cargo Barke problems

Someone please help with this!
I did brakes on a 97 E350 cargo van diesel I changed everything from the booster right down to the wheel cylinders everything new. I have blead and blead ensuring all air was out! The problem is the brakes when pressed twice work great except for the pedal slowly going to the floor! I have checked and double checked everything no leaks nothing. Yesterday we even started at the RR wheel and started capping lines to try and isolate the the wheel and or the problem area. We made it to the master cylinder and still pedal goes down. Changed the master for the 3rd time and re blead still the darn pedal keeps going to the floor! any thoughts please this thing is driving me up the wall

You have the electric vacuum motor for the vacuum booster set up right? pull the vacuum line off Try bench bleeding the m/c. Plug the lines and see if the pedal holds without starting the motor. If it does hold plug the vacuum line in and start it up. If the pedal drops check the booster and lines for a vacuum leak.

I forgot if it doesn't hold when you try it with the lines plugged at the m/c and the motor off then there's still air in the mc or the pressure is bleeding off inside the m/c. You want to take the vacuum booster out of the equation to check the m/c.

You're losing pressure somewhere.

Is your fluid level staying up or are you losing fluid?

Here's a possibility. First, I don't think three new master cylinders were all bad. Second, bleeding the brakes really isn't as simple as people make it out to be, particularly without the right equipment. And third, although there is one reference to "we", I'm betting you normally work this problem yourself, which isn't easy.

Here's my guess. You load a new master cylinder with fresh-from-the-can fluid and start bleeding the brakes. There's a problem somewhere and there's air in the system, and its getting back into the fluid in the master cylinder. So from then on the fluid in the master cylinder contains entrapped air, after which the pedal won't stay firm even if the master cylinder is fine.

Another possibility seems to me that if you've run through this many master cylinders, you've also run through a lot of brake fluid. At this point you aren't re-using the brake fluid are you?

Please don't take offense at my remarks. Just from your post we don't know your age or background and I'm just trying to help.

and the yes the fluid is staying up we bench blead the mc first then installed then blead the proportioning valve then the brakes. Every line has been capped at each p[articular part to isolate the circuit and let me tell ya it has been a pain in the A@$

Thanks for the update and background. "New Users" are often youngsters so its initially hard to know for sure where they're coming from. In any event, it sounds like you're out of my league so I'll bail ...... Good luck with your conundrum...
