Those are a uni fit that works with any 7" round lanp. It is held on by the headlight retainer ring. You can buy at nightprowlers and JC Whitney or Speedway. Sone even have the " Jewel" on the top. It is called a visor and comes in the small and even the rectangle.

Here's a link to the ones I used on my '52. On these I didn't use the retainer ring, these fit on the big trim ring around the headlight. these are bigger, but I like them.
Thanks a bunch guys. I knew that I would get the answer here. I had bee looking through various ford parts catalogs and found nothing.
Vern - Thats why I had to use the ugly truck for an example. On another note my next project will be building one of those ugly 53's C***y trucks for my daughter that will someday be a gift to her. Maybe once she sees my 48 ford done she will like the ford better....one can always hope...
They also make ones that cover the top half of the headlight. I have seen a few of them on ch**ies in the past. No clue why you would want to cover half the headlight though.
Well, when it's on a Ford, it's so that you can't see all the ugly Chebbie trucks.
When it's on a Chebbie, it makes the truck less obvious at night, to spare people from noticing it. It's really a common courtesy to put them on Chebbies.
I found a set of stainless one's at a car show. I bought them and put them on my 51. At first I didn't like them to well, I just had to get us to them. I think they look good on there now. You will like them.
No clue why you would want to cover half the headlight though.
As a quick fix to inprove poor lighting by means of reflection. Old technology that works and has even found it's way to solar panels. Just as a solar array uses a mirror to reflect light. Thats why we would see the half moon covers on the oldies with 6 v headlamps.
