when pulling a long hill or pulling out onto the highway my a/c blows warm it seems like a vacume problem but i dont know where to start looking please help thanks
They also did this to improve fuel economy. It's a vaccuum switch that interrupts the compressor during rapid acceleration. I have a 99 Ford car that does this.
I At one time (I think in the 80s) I saw an add-on "fuel saver" kit -- I think it was in JC Whitney catalog but can't be sure--that not only served to save gas on acceleration, but saved the power for the wheels. On smaller engines the A/C is rather noticeable.
I have not read anything about it, but it is possible the vaccuum switch may deteriorate with age and engine compartment heat and possibly get too sensitive, cut out for mild acceleration or stay cut out longer than needed, but that's probably not what's going on with your truck.
Also check the ac level, and does it do it on (ac max selector) I notice that if it is on the norm position it will cycle the compressor and you may get some warm air out to go a long with the fuel saver.
