Helix Power tower - does it work?
Anybody know anything about the helix power tower? It is a unit that raises the throttle body injection unit by one inch. Its suspossed to create a vortex air flow improving fuel atomization, thus giving more horses, etc.
Does it work as advertized? I get a little leery about things only one inch tall doing great things to the air flow.
Its for a F150 4.2 L.

I installed a throttle body spacer in my 99' 5.4l , I didn't notice any more power, but I may have picked up a little mileage boost (less than 1 MPG). But mostly, I just got noise. I call it my wind tunnel ram air turbo charger. It sounds like a big turbo spooling up. For about $70 and 30 minutes of my time, I wasn't risking much. I believe mine is made by Power-Aid. This is probably a good case of- you get what you pay for :-(

Ok..... I did this too. I didn't really feel a head jerking thrust, but I did notice the "Turbo - Wind" sound. I guess it helps? If you hear it, it must be working. Right? I installed mine the same time I installed my K&N FIPK. I have the 5.8L (1990) EFI and the holes in the spacer plate are about 1/4 inch smaller diameter than the throtle body intake holes and I have been wandering if this doesn't restrict the air flow a little?
