Question gauges

i just got a oil pressure gauge from autometer and i am havin some trouble. I have a 2001 5.4L 4x4 and my stock sensor seems too be bigger than the one they gave me. I dont know if i am makin harder then what it is but it looks that i cant even get to it. Didnt know if anyone knew the size and thread of the stock sensor so i cant find a adaptor for it, or to find some info about how to do it. thanks alot!

well i know that the tranny gauge you need to order some other special part for like $36.00, but from what i can see the new sensors and threads are different than that on our trucks! Im lost on what to do...

I actually havent even ordered the gauges yet. I've been distracted by a few other projects of a higher priority. When I do order them, I'm only going with the oil pressure and the tranny temp.

What are the pros/cons in going w/ electrical vs mechanical gauges?

I have been thinking that it would be easier to user electrical sending units than mechanical gauges.

well mattyk6_bdr i have water temp and trans temp that are electrical and my oil pressure is mechanical, i can tell you that the mechanical are cheaper and easier(to me) to install because the electrical involves all the the wiring, and there is alot if you get 3 gauges like i did
