I need to replace the upper and lower power steering hoses on my 68 with a 360 and when I called the parts store they needed to know what pump I have, I know I do not have the bendix pump but I do not know what the name of my pump is and it does not have the tag on it. this is the pump I have on my truck
also aything special I need to know about changing the hoses? this is my first time doing it, after I get the new ones on should I jack it up and turn the wheels lock to lock 20 times like everyone says to do?
I don't think there are that many choices. Have the counter person open the box and if it looks like yours it likely will work. If memory serves from prior discussions, they can be swapped without much noticeable change.
That's a Thompson pump, I bet you have a Bendix steering box for a 68. Best place for the Bendix box is the scrap iron bucket. Just joking as the core charge alone is $250. Saginaw box is better and bolts in but you need a shorter column and motor perch from a donor truck with the Saginaw box plus the pitman arm.
