Yes, the bellhousing will fit, but you need to grind the frame perches for the motor mounts off, and go to the junkyard and grind the perches off a truck that had any v8 in it and bolt them onto your frame crossmember. You also need a flywheel to match the balance of the engine you get, which is a little complicated when it comes to Fords.

well i knew at least the engine mounts and flywheel would have to be changed, now what about the clutch, if i get a new or different flywheel would i have to get another clutch also, thanks for the info though on the bellhousing

Yeah, it's a good idea to put a new clutch in whenever you have the engine or trans out. Also you'll probably want to replace the throwout bearing as well.

There was a similiar question about the clutch fitting on here before, and someone said it would fit the v8.

well see i know mustangs have a 10 1/2 inch and mine on the traight6 is a 10 inch, i dunno if that'll matter or not, im just askin so i know what i can do later down the road, i just replaced my clutch and ill tell you what, that tranny was a pain in the ace to get back in because it had to have weighed 350 pounds and 4 ppl deadlifting it from behind there heads had trouble getting it into the air just to get it on the tranny jack, from there it was still a pain to get in but after a week we finally got it, im not lookin forward to doing this again any time soon unless i find a good smallblock or my 6 goes down the drain, which i doubt because it was rebuilt and the truck just rolled over 150k

That's why some people pull the engine to change the clutch. They are setup better to pull the engine, with a concrete floor and a engine hoist, than they are to handle the tranny/transfer case underneath.
