Raw fuel? Like too much fuel not enough air? I have one installed I just need to wire it up. I will try to do it tonight. Do you really think that would make it not start at all?

Not having it wired could in fact fail to start your truck.

it should but because you cant start the truck to get the KOER codes you probably dont see it. i would pull some plugs to make sure they arent fouled/soaked. also check your oil for the presence of fuel. if there is fuel in there be sure to drain the oil and replace the filter before running the motor otherwise it may damage it.

No, I drove my Mustang for awhile with them unplugged. When cold it runs in open loop and doesn't use them right off.
I would do a compression test. Sounds like the timing chain jumped or something.

Yesterday it started and ran, but I had no time to mess with it.
Today it would not start at all again:
Compression is as follows:
1) 130
2) 139
3) 140
4) 137
5) 145
6) 130
7) 125
8) 125

I have a 96 bronco with a 351 as well. I swapped the distributor and the coil. I checked the fuel pressure (40-45psi). I also hooked up the O2 Sensor. Still no fire. Spark plugs were wet when pulled.

When I put the timing gun on I thought my timing gun was broke because the light would not come on. When I put the gun on the coil wire it worked, but it did not work on any spark plug wires. I swapped caps with one I had in my parts bin. Then the gun worked on the spark plug wires. Now it fires on 1 or 2 cylinders but wont start. Now what?

I replaced the cap and rotor and made sure the wires were not 180 degrees off. When they are 180 degrees out the truck backfires very loud! I put the wires back were they are supposed to be and it wants to fire every turn now, but still wont start [like half the engine wont fire or something].

Ran codes again. KEOF codes 111 and stored memory code had 327 which is this:

Electronic pressure transducer (EPT)/differential pressure feedback exhaust (DPFE) sensor/electronic vacuum regulator (EVR)

Its EGR related. It is probably because I had the EGR tube disconnected during some of the cranking.

I don't see the timing chain hopping a tooth. I put new gears and chain so I dont think that is possible especially during normal idling[thats when the problem occurred]. Plus it started and ran twice 1 day in between all this not starting business. I am checking the dizzy is at #1 when the harmonic balancer timing pointer is on 0. I can be like 3 or 4 off and move the dizzy to make up the difference. It doesnt matter. When the dizzy is on number 1 with balancer on 0 is when it acts like it wants to start now.

Is it possible for timing chains to jump 1 tooth on these motors?
Will an EGR cause the engine not to start at all?
Besides timing the only thing I can think of is an air leak pulling to much air in somewhere or something?

I have fire and fuel.........

when you installed the timing chain and gear did you match up the marks on the gears. they should point at each other

Yes....the truck has ran fine for over 2 months. Does anybody here think this is a crazy idea? When I lifted off the bed it somehow changed my ground. Is this possible?
Now my ground is not as good as it was causing weakazz spark?

What do you guys think?

Well the ground has been redone. It definetly needed improvement. Just for kicks I also ran another ground from the back of the truck to the engine. I pulled the coil plug wire and put a spark plug in it. It has a nice lightning bolt. I pulled the #5 spark plug wire and put a plug in it, from 5 inches a way it made lightning bolts. I put it together and still wont start. It fires like on 4 cylinders or so. It wants to start now but it wont. When I get done with this I will need a new battery and starter from all these starting attempts!

Should I check every plug wire?
If there is pressure at the fuel rail does it mean the injectors are really firing?
Does the PCM control fuel injector timing?

If it is an air problem can the AIC, idle bypass valve, or EGR cause an engine not to start?

What else should I check?

I also noticed with the key on when I turn the distributor at a certain spot it kicks the fuel pump on. Is this normal?
