Question engine running rough

Hi everyone,
Big problems, first off I have a 1974 460 engine with aprox 80,000 miles on it. I have installed a straight up timing chain, new edelbrock 6oo cfm carb on the stock manifold, new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. It ran fine, like a top, 100 miles and I turned it off, weird hissing sound, popped the hood and the gas filter was dry. I started the engine with no problem, but the fuel trickled in so slow you had to pump it to get it to run. I took my chances on getting it back home and I made it, with hessitation on the hills. After I got it home the fuel filter is now little over 1/2 full so I'm back to where it was when I left home that morning. Now the problem is it just will not idle at all and when I thied to get it in my garage I cuuld no way keep it running, stall very rough idle. I have a compersion test here to look at, #1 150 #2 140 #3 145 #4 145 #5 140 #6 145 #7 140 and #8 140. What could it be, ??????????? I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION IN THAT 200 MILES IT SUCKED 2 QTS OIL IN THROUGH THE PCV AND INTO THE CARB.?????????????????????????

Thanks for everyones input in advance.

Maybe your PCV valve is stuck open?

Question ruugh idle

pcv valve moves very freely when shaking back and forth, inside of hose has lots of oil in it. Also removed carb and found a gasket burnt through at egr side of plate, new one is ordered, will replace tomorrow, that should take care of the stalling and rough idle, now to find why it's sucking oil out of the valve cover through the pcv valve.

Thanks

Question oil loss

Replaced gaskets under carb and idles perfect, at 20 inches of vacum and steady, so the question still remains, why the oil is being sucked into the carb through the pcv hose? Any help again is greatly appricated.

Thave a great day

What happens if you disconnect the hose from the intake? Does it still pour oil out, or does it stop? If it continues to come out, then your problem is in the heads. If it stops, then you have excessive intake vacuum that is literally sucking the oil out ofthe engine

pulling out the pcv valve lets smoke out, oil does not splash. Went to ford garage, they said bad oil rings, but could be from setting around, just run it and see if they free up.
