Lost 3rd and 4th Gear
Well, it was bound to happen. At 40K (just outside of warranty) when i shifted my truck inro reverse there was an approximate delay of about 5 seconds. I took it to the dealership and they said something was leaking in the reverse drum and I was looking at $1k - $2K to fix it. I decided to "let it ride" today, the day after I get the tuck from the dealership, I lose 3rd and 4th gear on the freeway. I've taken the truck to the dealership and they gave me quote of $3K - $4K to install a reman tranny. I took the truck today to the local tranny guru to have him give me quote on rebuilding it with better parts. Since day 1 I've been dissatisfied with this truck and this tranny issue is the final straw. I can't believe a $40K rig that is mostly used on the freeway to and from school is toast at 62K. I guess the moral of the story is to buy the extended warranty for these trucks b/c as far as I'm concerned their a Piece of S***
