My friend wants to put a 390 in his '67 mustang that now has a 302. I know that some stangs came with 390s so this should fit, right? Anybody know of any problems?? Thanks in advance. Bill

A 390 will fit in a '67 with no problems. All you need is the motor mounts for a FE in a 67. Go to the forums at http://www.vintage-mustang.com and guys there can tell you where to find them.

No problems...but you will need a big block tranny either auto or stick, big block front springs, H.D. radiator, mustang 390 exhaust manifolds or aftermarket headers, 9" ring gear for longevity, etc., etc.

Bill, you will also need to swap in the front sway bar from a FE Mustang otherwise the oil filter will hit the smallblock swaybar. The bigblock sway bar is bent differently in order to clear it.

Tell him to get a 351C-4V instead. Everything fits except the radiator outlet. Also he will get more horsepower with less weight.
