the time has come for me to get new shocks, and new tires. i have a couple of questions to ask.
1: what are some good shocks for a reasonable price. my truck is a late 99' f350 with a leveling kit up front.
2: i also am in need of getting some new tires. my current tire size is pretty oddball 295/75r/16 and i want some that are close to those either in a mud terrain or an all terrain. my current tires are BFG all terrains.
3: i have also been thinking about some new rims, but i dont know what looks good with a stock levelled truck. so my question here is can yall post some pics of your non lifted truck with bigger rims and tires.
Can't help with the rim department, I went with MKWs M56 in a 16in, mainly because I have no interest in paying more than 200 a tire when it comes time to replace them. As far as shocks go, I went with monroe reflex, and have been really impressed with them, could be the stock ones were complete junk prior to replacement though as well. Each shock should be around 50.00 at napa.
Don't know if you want to go all-out, but i just put new wheels and tires on my truck. Mine is just leveled, and i managed to fit 35's with no rubbing on the springs whatsoever. It's all in the wheel offset. I'm using Motometal 954's 20x10, 18mm pos. offset, most are 12mm where you get rubbing even with 32" tires. I am running Toyo Open Country MT tires, they are amazing. Looks insane, i can only imagine what it could do off road, and the tires are near silent, barely vibrate at very slow speeds. I have to turn the radio off with windows down to hear my tires.
The Toyo Open country M/T's are AWESOME!!!! I have 285/75/R16s on mine. I used to run Super Swamper SSRs and these things feel and sound like A/T's compared to the swampers. There is a tiny bit of road noise from the Toyos but not that much more then my dads Firestone A/Ts. Had I known that they were as awesome as they are I probably would have splurged for a lift and some 35s or 37s.
I put bilsteins on my beast about 7 months ago and they are great.
