I have a 95 f150 w/ a 300 strait 6, dont get me wrong, its got plenty of *****, but would i get more power and better fuel economy with a throttle body spacer and a cold air intake?
Don't know how well throttle body spacers work, but intake will probably give you more of a response increase by allowing it to gather masses of air quicker. Headers are the quickest gain without rebuilding the engine.
Cold air intake is good for power but reduces mileage a bit. Forget the exact rule of thumb but I think if you reduce the intake temp by 1deg you get a 1hp increase. So like I6 said. Not much but every little bit helps.
Spacers either work or don't depending on who you talk to. The dyno results in the advertisements show improvements. About the only way to collaborate that is to dyno your truck before and after to see if there is a difference. Same thing with tornado's.
Cold air intakes aren't even worth it. I used to have a K&N FIPK on my '89. It didn't do anything except make a sucking noise. That was the worst $200 i ever spent, just my opinion.
