i am looking for a new manifold, but due to my having to deal with smog laws, (i live in CA), i must use a manifold that is EGR equiped. my question is, which manifold should i go with? edelbrock or weiand, i dont know if weiand even makes an EGR acceptable manifold...any other manifold i will debate over also, but i think that the more power at a lower rev is better for my engine, its a:
stock 460 with headers, dual exhaust, msd ignition, K&N, and holley 750 carb...what next should i do besides intake manifold, i know a cam swap should be in there but i cant just take to heart comepletely tearing the front of the engine apart to do so...plus i dont exacly put many miles on my truck either, it is my daily driver but i have only put 4000 miles on it in the past year...thanks
I would go with the performer RPM. I see no advantages with the weiand. It is single plane so you will loose low end grunt but it is such a low rising manifold that I doubt it makes any more top end than the performer RPM.
I would NOT go with the Performer RPM unless you put a cam in it...go with the Performer. Your next mod for "seat of the pants" exceleration would be a set of gears or a slightly higher stall speed converter if your running an automatic.
