good little head I ported some with 1.85 1.54 valves that had a 360hp potential....
mine had 5? cc chambers they use a rail type rockers so the valves have a longer tip....hardened exhaust seats would be a good idea, those don't have any.....
How different are they than the D0OE 351W heads? Aside from extra intake bolts and L-shaped water passages on the 351W heads.
The cooling is a little different....so you have to drill holes when mixing them up.
The chambers are different..shape and size
The valves are different 1.85 1.54 in the 351 and 1.7? 1.45 in the 302 head
The intake port is bigger on the 351W
I think they both take the big spark plug...13/16 head on them....
The valve train is the same they both use rail type rockers..non-adjustable
The exhaust ports are pretty much the same...They suck....
The 351W has 1/2 head bolts the 302 is 7/16
Here is a pic I took of the same heads we are talking about, I was working on them at the same time....
look at the cooling passages on the left side on each head, you can see where you need to drill holes..either in the head or block don't much matter as long as they line up....I drilled the block.....
