Seems like when I fire up the truck it runs ruff and black smoke out of the tail pipes. After a while it smooths out. Almost could say it seems to be missing at first fire up. Is it possible there is a leaky injector? Also sometimes engine stalls and you need to floor gas pedal to get truck to start. Also seems like much black smoke. The truck has a new TPS and I cleaned the IAC. It also has a new temp sensor for the computer. It has a cam but is not agressive as it is a 92 302 with a maps setup.
My 89 did the same thing Flairside. I tested the fuel pressure at the rail, and at idle, she was pushing 100+ lbs. She also was blowing black smoke, especially when I revved her up to "clear her throat".
I changed the FPR, fixed the prob right away. Check your fuel pressure at the rail.
