timing and idle question

Where do you hook up your rpm meter to adjust idle? Also do you need to disconnect anything to adjust timing? Thanks guys.

Please provide more information such as the year of the truck and type of ignition, Duraspark or TFI.

If your truck is stock, then you can find a lot of good information on Auto Zones website. The following link will take you the the tune-up procedures for your truck and hopefully help you out. Use the menu on the right side to select the category desired. Good luck!

By RPM meter I am guessing you are talking about an engine analyzer with an RPM scale. If that's the case you hook up the thin wire to the negative side of the coil and the negative and positive cables to the battery. As far as timing goes, it shouldn't be adjusted as the computer takes care of that.
