I think it is a 203° stat, not 208°.
Short story. International supposedly designed these engines to urn at 203°, but Ford did not have long-stem stats in their inventory/supply chain for 203°, only for 195°. To keep things simple, they stuck with the 195° stats they already had. Benefit of 203° is supposed to be slightly more efficient combustion.
