HI everyone, I have a 1985 bronco that is going to be the new home for my 1974 351/c6 combo. The truck is only to be a toy, farm truck, mudder. My question is that when I rebuild the moter, since it will never see highway, how do I break in the motor? I would love for it to last, I have 160 acres to roam, fish, cut wood, etc. I know how to break in the cam, and also that varying the rpms for first 500 mi. is important, but the truck won't see many miles, mostly trails and I was just wondering if there was a different way, or anything special that I needed to do to make my motor last a while.
Great to hear you like the site! You will want to post your question in our tech forums. Just click on the Forums tab at the upper left and scroll down over the list. There are forums for your year of truck and others for engines. Either way I'm sure you can get some help in them. Also stop in the Kansas chapter, there's a link in my signature below. There are several members that go to Randolph and other areas to wheel.
