I just pulled an '87 2wd ranger with a 2.9 out of a field. The truck was parked due to a intermittent electrical issue more than a year ago. I bypassed the toasted inertia switch and did some other repairs and now have the truck running again as my daily driver. I need to know of any major issues with the 2.9's I've only owned Dodge's before and am new to Fords. The truck has the typical valve noise that i've been hearing about, should I worry or will it be fine?
Those trucks have one purpose and that is to be driven hard. I had an '88 that I could tell stories about all day.
