running HOT, problem???

was driving the truck the other day , it was hot (like SoCal is in summer), highway driving, stop and go speed up, slow down etc (like SoCal is all the time), then i noticed the AC would cycle and get warmer, meanwhile i also noticed the temp guage was climbing and the check gauge light was on (the temp guage is usually about 1/2 but was at or maybe above 3/4 this time). the truck was running fine, i looked and there is plenty of coolant. it never did this before, or since. however the next day the AC would cycle warm again for a bit, but the temp gauge stayed normal. drove yesterday down the beach and the day before, no problem. any ideas???

Yup... Make sure that there are no obstructions to your airflow. This includes any lights that you may have placed up-front, a swarm of dead bee's stuck in the radiator, or any other restrictions between flowing air, and cooler fins. If your running a hot tune, roll it back as a test. I'm in the same heat that you're in, so I understand the conditions. Although I have no airflow issues, my AC gets a little grumpy when it's 120+ from reflected road heat.

wera racer,

Follow ozx3+1 advice, if it is not that it could be a bad Visconic Fan Clutch. Check the simple stuff first and if that does not do it take it in and let the tech check the fan.

I live in Phoenix and i don't have these problems with the A/C or engine temp in traffic and we run hotter ambient temperatures than you guys tend to.
