I sold my '75 Ranger a year or so ago, but have been recently thinking about buying it back...
Well, I was talking to a friend over the weekend who's father has a '78 F100 short flareside in much better shape (body wise) than my old '75, plus it has the grill I prefer. It doesn't run, but that doesn't matter. I'm looking for a project (not that I need one)...
I know I've seen this before, but I can't remember where or how well it matched up. But I'm not real crazy about the older flareside beds. If I buy this truck I would want to swap the bed out with either a 92-96 flareside or a 73-79 swb.
Does anyone have any pictures or know of any 73-79 trucks with 92-96 flareside beds???

Reason: typo
I love the old flaresides, and they are becoming quite rare these days...
I have also seen the 92+ flareside beds on a '73-'79, and they look good too, but if you get a good original bed with the truck, I would stick with it.

Well, the truck has a dinged rear fender if I remember correctly, but otherwise pretty good shape. So, I would probably hang on to the original bed, and probably even restore and paint the bed to match, so it could go back on the truck anytime. However, I want to go a little more radical/custom with this truck, and really want to try the newer bed. I'm even thinking about a little custom fiberglass work to make the newer bed match if needed...
Not sure though, just have to see what happens... if you happen to come across a picture though, please link it or email me...
