351W rebuild problems

351W rebuild problems

How do you tell the difference between the blocks of the 351W the one piece rear main seal vs the two piece rear main seal? I guess the crank is different, is anything else ie flywheel, clutch, etc????

We are stuck, the machine shop appears to have given us a different block that the crank etc that we have purchased new was ordered based on the two piece rear main seal block and appears we now have a one piece. would like to know what to look for before I go back in...

Welcome to FTE

351W: Beginning on 7/11/1983, the rear main seal went to a one piece design. The block and crankshaft also were changed on this date.

Thanks for the info... going nuts trying to finish project this weekend... not gonna happen need to go fishing but need the truck>.>>> uggh
