Wrong wiper motor?
Hellow folks, great forum here, been lurking here awhile and learned alot, bought a 56 Ford pu about 3 mths ago, its a nice truck,no rust anywhere that Ive found and runs and drives good, working through lots of little problems without much trouble till now, its got electric wipers and Icant get them timed right, when stopped the left side is down and the right side is up. If put the same way when parked the left works as it should but the right goes down onto the hood, looking under the dash the motor spins round and round, is it supposed to go back and forth or does this truck have the wrong motor on it. The wiper motors turn 360 degrees. It is the connection of the wiper arms to the crank arm on the wiper motor shaft that controls the arc of the blades. Don't know if that explanation makes any sense but I know what I mean. I would check all the points of connection on the wiper arms and at the crank to make sure nothing is slipping. Sounds like a phase problem with how the arms/crank are connected to the motor. Do you have the original type motor or an after market? If you have a manual you might look to see if you are connected as it shows.
