Jotto Desk installed

So I received my Jotto Desk and accessories for the X and completed the install. I went with the Jotto because the Ram Mount said it wouldn't fit with the Limited duct under the front passenger seat.

So now I have my lap top on an articulating desk that has holders for my PDA and cell phone. That is why I never used the Banks mount for the PDA on the dash (drill a hole? Kill me first!) And since the PDA also has the TomTom navigation loaded it is a very handy set up.

Installation? I had to remove two seat bolts and then put them back to secure the lower bracket. Hoo whee! The rest just fell in to place. No impact on the passenger leg room, and the desk can swivel all over without running into anything. Nice.

First I will have to ask permission for the digital camera, then I will have to ask for assistance in attaching pictures. My areas of expertise lie elsewhere. Somewhere.

RAM Mount will indeed fit

I have a RAM mount in my 2005 Eddie Bauer Excursion. It has been in it for two years with no problems. It bolts to the two front seat bolts on the passenger seat. It is very heavy duty and has held up very well.

Snurtle,

Someone else will have to chime in, but the base mounts using the two front passenger seat mounting bolts. How different could it be?

The Jotto Desk rises up in the middle to accomodate a duct that is on the Limited, and which the Ram Mount says specifically that it will not fit.

The Super Duty truck is a different part number, but fits more years. I would send Jotto Desk an e-mail and ask them.

Anyone know if there is a difference in the seat bolts between early and late X's?

Weekend,

Are you saying you have a Jotto Desk? I didn't see it in the picture. Nice pen collection, though.

I'm trying to find out for Snurtle if there is a difference in the seat bolts/mounting between early and late X. That would answer his question about a Jotto Desk for him.

I have a Jotto from a F350 in my X, It was in my 2000 X and now it is in my 2005. I bought one of the first ones off the line a long time ago. The only problem I had was I had to use a little spacer and a little longer bolt. Space between the holes are all the same on Superduties and the Excursions.

What size bit did you use on the mounting bolts? I tried az T-55 and its too small and a T-60 is too big someone told me Ford had a T-57 made up just to mess with us or is it a metric standard???
i want to remove the middle seat in front and replace it with a console.
thanks,
Pablo

T55 is what I always used. Maybe your bolts are stripped out a bit, or maybe the teeth on your bit are worn down.
