My number-7 injector cap(passenger side closest to cab) now has only one male end and the kit I got from a diesel shop in town which of course is closed today all the caps have 2 male ends am I missing something can anyone give me a idea of the way the lines should go please.
The one with the single cap is the one Ford replaced due to it leaking after they did some other repairs but I dont remember if it was single or double cause they put new hoses all the way around.
The kit is Stanadyne "36486 kit nav 7.3L injector installation"
It looks exactly like this- http://shop.ivalueinternet.com/shopd...uct_id/495.htm - all only have 2 male nipples.
Whats on mine now is 1-1nipple, 5dbl nipple and 2 - 3 nipple caps so how would I run the line in between the injectors?
This is my return line setup.
One single and 7 doubles 4 of which are straight through and 3 are 90 degree angle caps.
I have a return block on the back of my engine and a tee between the #1 and the #2 injector in the line.
Start at the rear passenger side with the single and run to the front injector.
There you cross over to the drivers side and run to the back injector.
Depending on the layout of the triple tees, you may need to move them to the #3 and #4 injectors and put your IP return and filter return there.
You can still cross over from the #1 to the #2 injector.
Injectors #1, #2 and #8 are 90 degree caps
Injectors #3 and #4 are straight dbl
Injectors #5 and #6 are triple tees
AND Injector #7 is single Will the kit that I have work if I ran the line differently?
The problem is it has (4)90 degree caps and (4)straight thru caps OK but the way mine is currently on the truck I have (3)90 degrees on #1,#2 and #8 Injector / (2)straight thru caps on #3 and #4 Injector / (2)three tee caps on #5 and #6 Injector AND just the single cap on #7 Injector. Can I use the kit and reroute thing to work properly with the caps in the new kit and if so how? I have to work this morning so please help I am getting picked up for work and dont like it I want to finish this today if possible. I replaced all the Injectors with new is why I am doing the kit. Thanks to all!
OK, I see what yor are saying now I think.
The kit you have is for a NA motor.
Looks like you need two inline tee fittings to tee in the IP and filter return lines.
I would reuse the single cap if it looks good, and eliminate one of the 90 degree caps.
An inline Tee at the back of the motor can pick up the IP return and the #8 injector out of a 90 degree cap.
Also a tee in the line running from #1 to #2 can pick up the filter return.
#1 - 90 degree fitting, one line to a straight thru cap on #3 and one line to a tee which picks up the filter retun then on to #2
#3 - straight thru, one line to #1 and one to #5
#5 - straight thru, one line to #3 and one to #7
#7 - single cap
#2 - 90 degree cap, one line to the tee for the filter and one line to #4
#4 - straight thru cap, one line to #2 one line to #6
#6 - straight thru cap, one line to #4 one line to #8
#8 - 90 degree cap, one line to #6 one line to a tee that has the tank return line on one side and the IP return line on the other side
Your lines will look just like the ones in my picture then.
well now another problem in that I cannot get one of the copper washers out its a good thing I read some of the posts otherwise I would not have caught it I am trying the metal clothes line and will try what ever looks like it might work?
