Randy: Well, CONGRATS! that's great !
But, at the same time, it also makes me think the the folks judging just didn't fully realize (or appreciate) the level of modifications you've done on this shortbox. Because if they did, you'd have brought home several trophies, not just one.......

BEST PAINT...and rightfully so. Beautiful job!! I think its great, and benefits us all, that these slicks are getting some attention at car shows and on the road. Over the last two years we have bee blessed with several "Best Truck", "Best Ford" and "Best of the 60's" awards. We are mighty proud, especially considering how much money some have put into their vehicles and some very nice 55-56-57 F-100's have been at these shows. I don't think people are used to seeing the slicks restored to the level that some of us have done.....cool.....cool....cool....and folks will see that. It can only make our trucks more desirable. Congratulations!!

Congrats on a vary nice looking truck.
I did a 4 year cab off rebuild on my 81 F100 flare side as a nice driver not a show truck.
I have used it every day to work, 37 miles each way, and weekly trash run.
I also did ALL THE WORK myself and have pictures I display at shows to prove it.
I don't go the win anything it's to be with other gear heads and see what they have. Vary few if any have done the work themselves and that makes me feel even better with my truck.
BTW the first show I went to , all Ford show, I took first in my class (stock truck) out of 4 of us and I was the only one that rebuilt his own truck others were factory untouched newer ones.
