underhood relays
next to the underhood fuse box on my truck is another small box that has relay 1 and relay 2 on the lid. there are no realays in this box and there is no mention of them or this other box in the owners manual. it is not something someone has added either. there is a ford type wireing harness coming out of the bottom of the box. what were/are they for?? its a 97 F250 4x4 PSD

On my '95 F-250 these relays were for the trailer tow option. I seem to remember that one relay was for trailer backup lights and the second was for trailer battery charge.
I think that your '97 has the same setup.
