Does anyone know where I might get information on lubricating the chassis of a 1997 F250 LW? I can find no zerks and I wonder how all the joints are lubricated.
Seems most vehicles are being produced with no zerk fittings. Manufactures claim new materials they're using will last almost the life of the vehicle. Yeah, I've heard the before!
Sometimes, they will put plugs in where fittings should be. These plugs can be removed and zerks installed. My '89 Mustang was like that. My '94 van has just 4 fittings on the steering linkage, none on the ball joints or u-joints.
'Bout the only thing you can do, is replace with greasable parts at replacement time.
There is nothing to lube under the F250LD. It is all sealed or non-greasable unless you get one of those needle injectors and hit your ball joints every so often.
