Steering box

My truck is a 79 F150 4wd and i switched out my steering box because it didnt have power steering all the time it cut out and didnt work all the time. So i switched it with a junkyard one and it has lots of play and the truck wanders all over the road its power steering works its just that it has way to much play in it. SO im going to buy a rebuild my old box with new seals and bearings.
Also this is mostly a street drivin truck with 33inch tires now and possibel 36 inch tires later on but will be taken off road every now and then would Hydro assist help out the life of the steering box???

yup i adjusted it by screwing the bolt in all of the way and it got better but still has a big wander to it.
OK so heres the deal i just got a rebuild kit from napa for the old box with the half working power steering. The directions tell me that there should be only 27 ***** in the worm gear, but mine has 28 ***** in it. Should i just put it back together with 28 or take the extra one out?????

Did the kit from JBG have bearings and stuff because the one from napa only had seals, bushings, and spacers.
