Any thoughts, positive or negitive, reguarding the use of after market multiple spark discharge units. Do they work? Are they worth the money?
I am running a '85 F150 with a 300 I6 and Old Blue can be tough to start in the morning! The various companys claim easier starting from the multiple spark and auto timing retard of 20 degrees. Looks like you can get a pretty nice set-up with a new coil from MSD or Accel for under two bills.
What do you guys think?
I bought an MSD 6T box for my 86 F-250 and I really like it so far. It totally eliminated the stock Duraspark II box but I've heard you can wire the two ignitions in sequence. The MSD gives "Hoss" a nice steady idle and it just kinda feels smoother. My fiancee' swears the engine is much quieter and it doesn't seem to work as hard at certain speeds.
My next purchase is to get an MSD distributor to replace the stock unit in my truck now. I'm highly impressed with MSD and I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
