pcv valve thing

pcv valve thing

yeah i was just curious that pcv valve thing on top of the valve cover i took it off and shook it and heard stuff shakin around in there is that bad soo anyways i soaked it in gas for bout 2 hours and gas ran right thru it no problem i thought those things were suppose to stay closed till enuff pressure to open them anyways soo i shook it some more and still hear stuff clingying around is that good or bad?

I think you are talking about the CDR valve (Crankcase Depression Valve) There is a diaphram that lets the gas/air thru and when pressure is built, it stops oil from entering the intake.

But others who actually know how it works wil chime in soon.

Should be nothing rattling inside the CDR.

if there's something rattling inside, sounds like the diaphragm is busted and letting that piece move around. just a thought.
