Question color coded wires, driver side engine compartment?

The 2006 F250 with 6.0 has a group of color coded wires taped together and not attached to anything...the cut ends are visible. These are located at the right side of the back wall on the driver's side inside of the engine compartment as you stand in front of the truck and look back towards the windshield. Below these taped together with white tape wires, is a tie wrap that is not tied. What could these wires be used for? I have seen this on all the 6.0 xl trucks...thanks

Look under your dash on the drivers side and you'll see the same thing. They're pass through wires for you to use so you don't have to cut holes in your firewall.

Again, they're pass through wires so you can hook things up like off road lights or whatever and not have to cut through the firewall. Like instead of running a power wire from the battery into the cab to a switch and cutting or drilling a hole to do it, you'd run from the battery to one of the wires and splice it, then get the same color wire on the inside and voila, you're hooked up.

There are also some color codes wires in the corner that are for the snow plow package. Even though the unit may not have it they include the wires anyway. Just make sure you trace down the correct wires for your needs.
