Missing OD

Missing OD
Hello, I have a 1989 F-150 3.9 Engine & 4+OD Manual transmission. I got the truck and can not get the shifter to go into OD. It had been like this for the other owner also for some time. Any ideas what could be wrong?

4+ OD. Does that mean 5 speed?
If so, you have either the Mazda M5od or the ZF trans. Both are internal, top mount shifted boxes. You'll have to pull the shifter and the top cover on the Mazda to see what's going on.
If you have a 4 speed OD, then you need to check the external linkage or, if it's internally shifted, pull the shifter and investigate.
Something is broken, or loose, or debris has jammed it, or all of the above.
