Hesitating
Hey, I have a 92 Explorer with the 4 liter six in it. It is a stick and "hesitates" when I let the clutch out into 1st gear. It sort of shudders, then almost stalls out. I replaced the plugs and it's still happening. My question is what the heck is causing this? Is it the fuel filter, malfunctioning injector(s), or something else? If it is the injector(s), how do I determine which one(s) are at fault? Any help appreciated!

Did you put new wires in it? How old is the fuel filter? Change them once a year to save yourself a headache. Injectors dont fail very often, but do get dirty at times. Might go get them cleaned. I had an Explorer come into my shop with an intermitant hesitation and a check engine light on. It was getting a irregular signal from either the cam sensor or the crank sensor. I didnt have the break out box or the scope to check into it further, so I sent her off to the dealer. EEC-IV system fords like yours are a pain at times tracking down simple problems.
