Well, I thought it would never get to this....

I like my truck, but after 5 oil leaks in 17000 miles, it's now the bed plate..... Dealer says, as usual, the engine has to come out and possibly get replaced with a re-manufactured short block..

How have you folks that have had to pursue this done it??

Sounds like you need to find a dealer or tech that knows what they're doing. It's really not that hard to stop the oil leaks if the seals are installed properly. They do sometimes take a dab of "silicone" seal them correctly as per the tech manual. What other oil leaks have you had that they had to remove the engine?
