Some minor wireing questions...
- I've installed a Transmission Temp gauge and what to hook the dial light up to the regular dash lights (so them dim) - is there a wire on the back of the headlight/dimmer switch that I can splice in to?
- Same thing, the temp gauge - I need a "Hot with Iginition" wire that I can splice in to. It can either be located at the headlight switch or the fuse box.
Then I did some more searching in the SD forum and found the dimmer wire on the back of the switch - it was described as "Light Blue with a pink tracer" but it looked more like a Red tracer to me. Anyhow - I confirmed this with a test light before I spliced it.
Maybe I can get a pic later an post it here.
Notice the red splice on the left. Thats for the Fog Light Mod. Cut the White wire w/ Black tracer and terminate the feeding end. The splice in to the brown wire on the oppsite side fo the switch.
On the rightside is the dimmer. I spliced the Red wire in to the Light Blue with Pink tracer (looked red to me). This splice allows the light for the new gauge to dim and function with all of the ohter gauge lights - just like OEM.

This is the circuit I used to power the gauage (and futures ones). I bought an "Add a Circuit" at AutoZone. It's a neat little trick - no splicing or cutting needed. Just unplug the existing fuse and plug it in circuit "A" and and plug a new fuse in to circuit "B", then splice in to whatever you are adding. in my case, both are 10a fuses and I used circuit #27, wich is a "Ignition Run Power Feed (Customer Access)" as described in the owners manual.
Circuit "A" is for the existing circuitry. Circuit "B" is for the add-on circuit.

The only drawback with this is that I can no longer place the stupid cover back on the fuse panel... well, lolli-frecking-da! The regular "pretty, outside" cover still goes on and that's all that really matters.
